Runs a four-track like it owes money. Collects field recordings of substations, cicadas, and the interstate at 4AM — some of them end up between songs, some of them ARE the songs.

mandolin
Plays a bowl-back mandolin with one string that never quite agrees. Picks tremolo like he is arguing with someone who left years ago. Swears the mandolin cuts through any amp in the room, then turns his own up anyway.
guitar
Plays a Harmony Bobkat through an amp found at an estate sale in Boone. Writes most of the words on gas-station receipts and loses about half of them. Believes the best take is the second one, always.
sax
Blew a rented alto in a middle-school band and never handed it back. That long tone swallowing the end of our sets is Thor refusing to stop. Keeps one reed he trusts and a cigar box of ones he does not.
guitar
Second guitar, first to snap a string. Tunes down until the room feels it, then drops it a little further. Plays the parts you never notice until the night they go missing.
drums
Kit is half a 1968 Ludwig and half things that were not drums until Evan hit them. Keeps time like a porch screen door: loose, wooden, exactly right. Books the shows nobody else will.
